Second Quarter Reflection

 

   I learned a less than adequate amount this quarter, but that’s to say for all previous quarters as well, because of the system we learn the material in. I’ve faced many challenges but fortunately, they are similar challenges I’ve faced and got through before so it is fairly easier now to deal with them. Moving on, I will stay real. Peace out.

"Binatbatan Festival of the Arts: A tapestry of culture and arts woven by a miracle"       Binatbatan Festival is a Filipino festival of the arts originated in Vigan City that is celebrated yearly from the last week of April to the first week of May.      Binatbatan, the word itself, is the process of beating cotton pods to remove the seeds for Abel weaving. The Binatbatan Festival was introduced in 2002 to be part of the festival to commemorate the Abel Iloco hand-loom weaving industry. The Binatbatan street dance is one of the main attractions during the week-long celebration. It is connected the Vigan’s Abel Iloco craft. The dance depicts how cotton is beaten with bamboo sticks to release the cotton fluff, called batbat, from its seed.      In summary, the Binatbatan Festival commemorates the Abel Iloco craft, and its dance depicts separating cotton from seed with bamboo sticks.

Letter to the President (Draft No.2)

 Dear Mr. President, Greetings of peace and good health in the name of the almighty Father. I am writing this letter to tell you how exasperated, frustrated, and disappointed I am in how you handle this present COVID19 pandemic. As a student, and as a person I am already imprisoned in the confines of my house, for the past year and longer because of your lousy directives brought about by the incompetence of the National Interagency Task Force. Please open your eyes to the sad truth of this pandemic and accept it as part of the environment so that the people will guard themselves by exercising all the minimum health protocols in order to avert this pandemic. Draft no.4 - Vigan City Fiesta Celebration in the New Normal

 Vigan City Fiesta Celebration in the New Normal      It is important to celebrate and have fun, but unfortunately, it doesn’t come without its risks.      The new normal is a burden we all have to deal with, and is also limits us to be able to properly celebrate fiestas and whatnot. I understand that it is an important tradition and celebration to many, but to be safe, I don’t think it is worth the risk of still getting the virus.      However, it is still possible but only if people follow the proper safety precautions, such as getting vaccinated, wearing a facemask, making sure to wash their hands, and trying to stay a distance away from other people.     If you can avoid it, then it is probably best to, in order to keep safe. It is still possible to celebrate a fiesta at home.
